It all began when I was 18. Due to unexpected changes in my family, I left my hometown and started a life of wandering and studying in a foreign land. It was a lonely time, but as the Chinese proverb says, "The eyes are the window to the soul" . I learned to read people through their eyes, and in Melbourne, I was lucky enough to meet the most beautiful pair I had ever seen.

She had eyes that could speak—sometimes filled with joy, sometimes gentle melancholy. She hated wearing heavy glasses, believing they hid the light in her eyes. But finding comfortable, high-quality contact lenses was always a struggle. She often told me how frustrating it was to distinguish good quality from bad in the chaotic market.

A Promise Kept

In 2020, the world changed forever, and tragically, I lost her. For a long time, she visited me only in my dreams. I would see those eyes again—sometimes smiling, sometimes tearful, but always unforgettable.

This summer, while watching the Perseid meteor shower, I looked up at the falling stars and felt a familiar connection. I realized that the best way to honor her memory was to solve the problem that once troubled her.
